NAPATREE VOCATIONAL SERVICES

Napatree Vocational Services is a distinctive employment agency assisting individuals obtain and maintain a job. One of the main objectives is to aid people in finding meaningful employment through a carefully orchestrated person/job match. Napatree provides services to people from age 14 and up.

Individuals may be referred to Napatree through:

  • RI Office of Rehabilitative Services
  • CT Bureau of Rehabilitative Services
  • Local School systems
  • Local ARC
  • Parents/guardians
  • Self

Napatree offers many services:

VOCATIONAL EVALUATION

A comprehensive evaluation process that assesses an individual’s physical capabilities, work related behaviors, interests, aptitudes, vocational skills, motivation and needs regarding the world of work. Vocational evaluation determines an individual’s strengths, preferences and abilities enabling Napatree to pair a person to an occupation insuring a good job/person match. Evaluations are a twenty day process utilizing work samples, standardized test, interviewing, computerized tests and situational assessments. Situational assessments involve placement of an individual in a community work site that is determined through interest inventories and interviewing. The situational assessment provides vocational exploration, work experience and exposure to the world of work.

TRANSITIONAL EMPLOYMENT – SCHOOL TO WORK

A time limited service offered to high school students (14 and over) to help prepare them for work. This program assists students to develop job skills and appropriate work behavior through structured internships and job site training. This program places high school students at community based job sites (internships) in order to receive experience in several types of jobs prior to graduating from high school. Individuals are overseen at their internships by Employment Coordinators.

EMPLOYMENT

An individualized program that assists people to become more independent and financially self-sufficient.
