Respite Services is designed to provide temporary, short term care for the developmentally disabled children and adults in their own homes or in a trained provider’s home.

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is the primary funding source for Training Thru Placement/Respite Services. The social workers at the Division of Developmental Disabilities authorizes TTP to provide these services; a standard authorization is 180 hours per year per family.

Respite Coordinators from various agencies throughout the state are responsible for coordinating services for families who live in that particular area.

Prior to receiving services, a family must:

  • Be on Title XIX
  • An authorization from their DDD Social Worker
  • Contact their area coordinator and complete a Personal Information Packet and Emergency Medical Release Form
  • Contact area coordinator (at least two weeks in advance) to request specific dates. Emergencies will be handled case by case
