Children learn about marine life – up close and personal

Updated: Oct 2, 2023

Trip to Biomes Indoor Aquarium a success on many levels

Participants in the Children’s Program had a great time at the Biomes Indoor Aquarium in North Kingstown.

A guided tour through the aquarium was followed by lots of hands-on experience!

Everyone got a chance to pet Darwin the Tortoise, and even our wonderful Executive Director, Ruth, got to give Darwin a back scratch.

Participants had the opportunity to feed sharks and sting rays, and to hold and feed horseshoe crabs as part of the sensory experience.

This outing was part of a Fall Celebration and included pizza, Halloween goodies, and some creative time with our spectacular art therapist Phebe. Everyone got to decorate their own fishbowl pumpkin as well as some other fun Fall activities.

A good time was had by all, learning about marine life, creating new art, and just being together!
