Kathy celebrating success through Olean Vocational Program

Updated: Oct 2, 2023

After considering several options, she decided on McDonald's

Kathy is proud to be earning an income as an employee of McDonald’s where she is a member of the Dining Room Associates staff.

With help from Peter Boardman, Vocational Program Coordinator, Kathy decided to pursue the job after reviewing several options and training with Peter.

"I looked at lots of different jobs, like florists and other stores,” Kathy said. “Working with Peter is very good and helpful. I'm excited to be making money and meeting people. Peter helped me learn my new job with a practice shift. I was able to see everything, try it, and meet everyone."

Kathy has been working two days a week since late Summer helping customers with the self-order touch screens and keeping the dining area clean and neat. She uses a taxi service for transportation to and from work.

Kathy took to her responsibilities very well, and after Peter’s initial coaching she is now on her own with only monthly check-ins from Peter!
