Over the past year, the Olean team – with the help of key community contributors – worked to update our Strategic Plan and our Mission, Vision, Values, and Purpose statements. We are excited to share them here and to provide Amari’s story as an example of the reality behind our Mission, Vision, Values and Purpose.
Our Mission: Frank Olean Center “Provides personalized guidance and supports for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”
Our Vision: An inclusive world where everyone can thrive.
Our Purpose: Why do we exist – our core motivation: Helping everyone live their best life.
Our Values:
Meaningful Life: An individualized path to happiness
Growth: Continually learning, adapting, and expanding possibilities
Empowerment: Fostering confidence, courage, and self-determination
Integrity: Willing to do what is right (even when no one is watching)
Amari was in the Children’s program and was so successful, he opted not to transfer into Adult Services. He worked hard, focused on his goals, graduated high school, started taking classes at CCRI. He then advocated for himself to pursue driving lessons and get his license. All the while, he worked and saved money to buy his own car. He was eventually recognized at his place of employment and offered a leadership role. The dedication of the Children’s team is a testament to early childhood intervention and support.
